Accounting franchise

Hi, I have decided to take up an accounting franchise. I know several discussions have happened in the past in this forum on whether it is  good or bad. But what I am interested to know is who are still in the market with good service and track record. Any member of this forum who took up a franchisee in the past and has run it successfully?

Thanks a lot in advance

8020 Financial Management

I do not own one of these franchises but I have met most of those who do.  They have had signficant success in achieving the projected earning figures - something like 80% of franchisees are on target within 6 months - check with them - whatever it is, it is fairly impressive.

Glenn Lawrence is the person to talk to.

Russell

PS. I am not employed by 8020

Although i would caveat the above...

what 'on target' means and what actually gives you a good living could be two completely different things (given the potential investment you must put in at the start to buy the franchise, and then commit to renting office space/shop front etc) - having said that in the end people will use you because of you...not because of the brand (no matter how good/bad it is hence the split in opinion and peoples experience)

I totally agree! I purchased a franchise some years ago and thanked my lucky stars when I handed it back 2 years later!! According to their website 86% achieve their year 1 turnover target and 93% hit their year 2 turnover target. Having spent time with some of the franchisees I totally believe that. This is a very effective franchise. I note that it is not quite what was required but I have to say I am impressed with them - which is why I mentioned them.

Have you considered...

...cheapaccounting.co.uk ?

Like Mark...

... I was going to suggest you speak to Elaine Clark.

I'm skeptical about franchises, but Elaine has a strong brand and, unlike Taxassist et al, actually requires youto have professional qualifications and CPE.

AIMS

I used to do quite a bit of work with these guys - I would say the members are generally very happy and their annual events were popular.

I have no link to them at all but worth a look...
