Agent view of PAYE code - heads up

Agent view of PAYE code - heads up

Didn't find your answer?

Just a heads up - not a query (unless I have got it wrong, which I may have - some speculation here).

I have noticed that on a number of occasions HMRC have issued PAYE codes to indivduals for whom we have 64-8 in place and UTR in place, but the codes are not appearing on the agent view of the SA account of the client.

I *think* that the reason for this is that said clients have been taken out of SA.  Typically 2015-16 is the last year for which HMRC are expecting a return.  We have certainly had a lot weeded out over the last few months.  But we still act, we still have 64-8 authority, and we still have access to client's SA record online.  The only change seems to be that PAYE codes which have been issued do not get loaded into that area.

Not very helpful turning off that tap, it seems to me.  If that is indeed the reason.

With kind regards

Clint Westwood

Don't think so, Clint.

I've got just three clients on mine who are "dormant". Two don't have NoCs to view but they're straightforward cases who are on the standard 1100L (this year).

I've got notices available to view for 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18 tax seasons for the other guy, though. All issued in the February before the relevant tax year.

I had two cases where when I received the 2015/16 P60s I could see different codes had been used to what I was expecting; I duly rang the agent helpline and was told with the first case that a notice of coding had been issued in the year but they had inadvertently forgotten to include it on the agent SA page for the client and with the second one no notice of coding had been issued - the employer in the second case got it wrong and instead of updating all the employees from 1000L to 1060L they'd added on 60 twice and made everyone 1120L - Oops!
