Are annual accounts held by Companies House...

Didn't find your answer?

I'm wanting to do some research on local firms and eventually post the information on-line. Part of what I want to quote is the turnover of a company. On the Companies House website I can purchase the annual accounts of a LLP or Limited company for a particular year which will give details of their P&L (where the turnover is over £5M.)

My question is whether I need permission to report the financial figures from Companies House i.e Are annual accounts held by Companies House subject to copyright?

Only...

... if they're creative accounts!

See CDPA 1998.

Thanks George, I don't want to sound ungrateful for your response but I often struggle to digest long winded legal jargon especially at 17:15!

Probably best that I ask straight from the horse's mouth!!

Not really

Companies House is where the 'public register' is. Information is filed under the companies act and is available for the public.
