Basic Pay and Hourly Pay

Didn't find your answer?

Dear Gurus,

I am paying my employee monthly payment £1500, the contract shows 40 hours a week, £18,000 per annum, I wonder how can I issue payslips, shall I write (Hourly Pay) and I mention hours per that month with hourly rate (8.65) , or I write basic pay without hours nd hourly pay. Please advise me

Thanks

Basic pay £1500
Less deductions

No need to mention hours.

Many thanks for your reply,
I am in the UK in visa, so I need all payslips to show that I employed British citizens and they want to see how many hours they worked and how much I paid them and the hourly rate.
They want to see Full payment submissions as well.
What is the best solution to show number of hours?
thanks

Well, short of changing amount each month to number of working hours on an actual basis, which would be a pain, 40 x52=2080 hours per year so process 173.33 hours per month at £8.653846 per hour and that will give you your £1,500 per month.

Dear DJKL,
Please advise me, from your comment I suggest:

Payment: Monthly
Hours: 173.41
Rate: 8.65
Total Hourly Pay: 1500 (it is 1499.996, but there is rounding)
Is that OK?
If I used it, the fraction (0.41) in hours is it possible, does it make sense?
Thanks

You should know the hours you work.

You know the pay you get.

The hourly rate is one divided by the other - no need to stop at two decimal places.

I find your question about 0,41 hours disturbing. Are we making the facts fit your visa needs here ?

There is no obligation, as far as I am aware, for employers to show hourly pay on payslips.

We certainly don't (on the whole), staff get a salary - so 1 x £2000, or whatever.

If need be, I would write a letter to whomever explaining the job was full time.

I can understand why the Home Office wish to see the FPS submissions by the employer, as these state hours worked in terms of one of five bands. Only problem is that some payroll software although submitting the hours data to HMRC via RTI does not show the data on any printed record of the FPS submissions!

I believe that the earnings bands are currently as follows:
Band A: less than 16 hours per week
Bank B: 16-23.99 hours per week
Band C: 24-29.99 hours per week
Band D: 30 plus hours per week
Band E: Other

Yes, correct
My payroll software shows "D" as worked hours during RTI submission,
There are no hours data in the RTI Submission, so they want to calculate hours from two documents, payslips and FPSs
I can get FPS printout with hours by using hours layout.
Thanks a lot
