Hello,
I've been making an app to automate as much back office stuff as I can (eg emails to clients saying give us a bank statement, approve these accounts, tax reminders etc). One thing I would like to do is have the app generate a paper 64-8 for me using the reference numbers in my database. I'm pretty sure I've seen Iris or similar do this but can't see how I would go about it.
Does anyone know if this is something HMRC make possible or do people just mock up their own 64-8?
ps - I can see that I can use an API to do Online Authorisations but I would prefer a paper version to be signed by the client once.

Since authorisation can be done via letter, or simply by punching an authorisation code into HMRC's online services, I wouldn't expect you to hit any problems, although I'd be tempted to follow the wording of a paper 64-8 if you intend to go the paper route.
