I have put a new topic in the Professional Indemnity Forum - Can you be sued for free advice?
This is based on a recent judgment in the Court of Appeal. The case involves a person who dropped in to see a firm of solicitors off the street and had a free interview during which they were advised NOT to go ahead with something. But they did. It ended in tears and they sued the solicitor for negligence.
See the Forum post for what the Court of Appeal had to say. (Hint: you may not enjoy reading this!)
