Cloud Accounting

Moving from Office Server based Accounting software to Cloud Accounting Software

Didn't find your answer?

I am thinking of working from home rather than in the office.

Does anyone have experience of moving from Sage 50 Accounts + Payroll to Cloud based accounting software, and if so would you have any recommendations.

I do believe there is a cloud version of sage 50, so it should be easy to move.

Thank you,
I was just wondering if anyone had experience/thoughts of Sage Cloud Software or indeed moving from Sage to another provider.

We moved from Sage to Xero and I will be completely honest, after the initial set up it is fantastic.

Thank you. Xero is the only other software I have been made aware of. So to know it was quite painless transitioning is very useful.

Hi george52 - sorry I won't get involved in the question but there are perhaps 30 cloud accounting products out there, some free! And the reason why you may have only heard of one of them may be explained here:

If you are moving from Xero to SAGE, Xero will move 24 months of records across to Xero free of charge using "MoveMyBooks".

If you want to move more than 24 months of data i think they charge 60 pound per year.

would not go to Xero, QBO seems more advanced and easier to use plus you can speak to a human

Alternative to pure SaaS solutions is to remain with traditional software and move it a Hosted App. That way you get the best of both worlds.
