Cost saving on accomodation

Accommodation costs

Didn't find your answer?

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience on saving on accommodation costs i.e. hotels and b&b's.

Our line of work is increasingly involving a lot of travel for our site employees meaning considerable hotel costs.  Quite a few of the hotels are the big name hoteliers.  Has anyone had any experience in negotiating business deals / rates with any of these big players as loyal customers?

I believe some hotels offer business rates for a certain number of bookings placed per year?

Many thanks in advance

You are best to get in touch with a big company like Premier Inns

No experience of that here.

However I would suggest you start by calculating how much you have spent with each of your suppliers in the last 12 months, and contact them individually, armed with those figures.

If you spend enough with them, you can probably negotiate something.

I worked for an employer who had an account with Jarvis and always used that chain. I understand that preferential rates were available. Most of the rooms I stayed in were advertised at over £200 (I know, who ever pays the rack rate - but the was fifteen years ago) and I believe we paid c£80 plus our meal allowance of up to £32 per night.

Then again we were spending hundreds of thousands of pounds with them every year, and could pretty much abuse our position as a major regular customer
