Do Companies House accept same iXBRL prepared for HMRC?

Do Companies House accept same iXBRL prepared...

Didn't find your answer?

Hello there,

Does anybody know if Companies House accepts the same exact iXBRL document filed with HMRC? I know that CH currently accepts XBRL or iXBRL filings on a voluntary basis. I was informed that if it is iXBRL, then companies can use the same iXBRL document that was filed with HMRC; But, few others say that it requires minor changes to this document so that it meets CH requirements. Can somebody help me with this additional CH requirement? May be, a sample CH iXBRL, or a documentation on the CH iXBRL requirements?

Many thanks.

Cheers. Balaji

I don't really understand the question

You have to file full statutory accounts at HMRC with the CT600 return and computations, but you can file abbreviated accounts, containing less information, not more, at Companies House.

Look at the guidance from Companies House and HMRC.  You can download the joint filing accounts template from CT Online for your company.

I have not done this, so one thing I do not know is whether you enter the non-statutory detailed P&L, which HMRC requires technically as part of the computations, but is always appended to the statutory accounts, on the joint filing template and if so, whether that would be omitted from the statutory accounts filed at Companies House if you choose to file the full accounts rather than abbreviated accounts.

iXBRL is slightly different

Companies House iXBRL is slightly different from the one used for HMRC submission.
You may have to contact Companies House directly for further information
on the requirement.
