Earlier Year Updates

EYU - how far back can you go?

Didn't find your answer?

Can anyone advise how many years can you go back (i.e 2013-14) with EYU, and if HMRC apply any penalties?

Thank you.

You can still do 2013/14.

Penalties ? Depends. Are you prepared to disclose the circumstances more fully?

Sure... we need to reduce a clients payroll by about £700 per annum. So a reduction also to be shown in tax and NIC due against the amount that was actually paid to HMRC.

I think it depends on whether the clients payroll was actually overstated by £700 or you are manipulating said payroll for other reasons.
