Excel 2010 - VBA not working

Excel 2010 - VBA not working

Didn't find your answer?

I had MS Office 2003 installed. I had created a macro to locate and colour formulae and saved as "personal.xls" so that it was available for all workbooks.

I have now installed Office 2010 (just excel for now) but whenever I start 2010 I get a message stating that "personal.xls" has been repaired and the vba project has been lost. On the developer tab the macro related buttons are greyed out. I have found and deleted "personal.xls" and the message no longer appears. However the macro buttons are not available and pressing Alt F11 does not open up VBA.

Any thoughts please?

Do you need to

upgrade your Personal.xls file to Excel 2010 Macro enabled Personal.xlsb file

If you don't save a file with macros as Macro-Enabled in Excel 2010 the macros are lost.

I don't have a Personal.xls file, but possibly you need to copy the modules out of the 2003 version, close Excel & delete the 2003 version, Open 2010 and create a new Personal.xlsb file and then copy your modules back into that?

Have a look here - http://www.rondebruin.nl/personal.htm
