Farewell

Farewell

Didn't find your answer?

I could eventually get used the crap layout.

The final nail in the coffin is that people can post questions anonymously.

I have saved myself a lot of time historically because I could click on the profile and see that:

The person had already posted the same question a few days prior

The person is a complete timewaster

The person has never bothered to return to thank people and / or answer questions presented to them by other members.

The person has become abusive when they didn’t get the answer they wanted.

Thanks Accounting Web. It’s been a whirlwind romance. But Cheeky is now departing in pursuit of something hotter.

Fare thee well dear Cheeky. While we never like to see members leave we have to respect your opinion, just as we had to edit out the swearing in your post.

We'd just like to stress that we are at the beginning of the process rather than the end, and all constructive feedback (like the point included in this post about anonymous posters) will be looked at.

All the best,

TH

Well you didn't *have* to.

Can you not just refrain from answering anonymous questions.

People will then learn that if they want an answer they need to set up a new profile, and ask unanonymously that way. :)

PS I am not entirely sure that Tom's sorry to see you go is completely sincere. :)

I could certainly refrain from doing so. But let’s face it, everyone will be posting anonymously from now on.

I don’t wish to partake in Sift’s nonsense.

Can you respond anonymously? Because that was the worst thing about the old (old) AW, that a presumably small group of trolls would pounce on every question by a user and belittle them from the shadows.

At least when AW diss me these days I know who did it :P

No, I don't think you can post comments anonymously.

So when people ask further questions, how will the questioner respond?

I don't normally like to say anything negative to people but do agree that all post should be linked to a user who is known to the community.

Hello cheeky, please come back. This is not a big enough issue to part company with AW.

It would be a shame to lose an active contributor. I love reading most of your contributions. I just got used to your put downs. Most of the time you are so spot on.

OK, not quite anonymous, but certainly hidden behind an old account (I'm having a week off work and don't have my regular login details), but I have a question for Cheeky.

Isn;t this about the sixth time you've left in the past fortnight?
