New client (mobile hairdresser) wants to get her tax affairs in order.
Although she is registered self employed HMRC ceased asking for tax returns I presume because up to 2002 her earnings were very low.
They have increased over the years and she now owes about £25 tax per year from 2004/2005 up to 2010 when her earning shot up
and there is a £600 liability.
I need to file returns from 2004/2005 onwards can these be done on line.?.
Many thanks for any responses.

If returns were not issued and there was no significant liability you do not need to submit returns.
I would send in a letter with accompanying calculations explaining the final liability for each year including 2010. I would offer payment on a voluntary basis for that year only as £25 is within their tolerance levels and enclose a cheque for the 2010 liability with the letter.
I am not sure which tax year you mean by 2010 but assuming it is 2009/10 I would then ask for her to be issued with a return for 2010/11 so that she can rejoin self assessment at that point.
If she feels it was an unusual outcome and she is not likely to repeat the profit I would follow the 2010/11 return with a request to withdraw again.
