Filing PAYE return where client is not on HMRC list of PAYE clients

Filing PAYE return where client is not on HMRC...

Didn't find your answer?

Iris have indicated not, but I am convinced we have done this in the past; has anyone been able to do this successfully.

This is only an issue as HMRC are hit and miss in sending out authorisation codes, which 20% of the time clients never receive!

Yep

Yes, we've done it with Moneysoft so no reason why not

HMRC Website accepts these too

You can also file them through your online login for HMRC.  Just go to the main PAYE page, then choose 'Filing only service', from that page select the 'Online returns & Forms' link at the top of all the text.  Then you just add your client, submit and bobs your uncle.

.

Thanks for the replies, that's reassuring.

Would be nice if someone using PAYE Master also confirms - would then show I was given incorrect advice by Iris!

YES YOU CAN!

There's no problem with filing when you aren't authorised with HMRC.

That said, I just tried one and it could................same problem as I raised a few days ago. Which I'm guessing is heavy traffic with everyone filing?

Iris Paymaster

Hi

We use Iris paymaster and we have certainly filed on-line in previous yr's when a client has for whatever reason not been on our list. Usually missing code or just dropped off our list, now you see me, now you don't!

As for going online and adding [bolo], haven't tried recently but doesn't seem right to me that you can add a client to your list without an auth'n code but haven't tried it under the PAYE section. Something new or a loophole?

Regards

Mark

Seperate Section

@Mark

The section to file without an authorisation code is seperate to your authorised clients.  Just follow the path I laid out and you will find it, not that you need to of course with Iris.

Of course if there is a client limit on your software and you don't want to spend extra just to file one new client at short notice over your limit it's worth being aware of.
