OMG, I'm guessing there will now be thousands of anonymous posts per day banging on about how great Taxflier is...
And what has this got to do with FATCA, KPMG and iXBRL?
RE: Anonymous posts.
Although the author is credited as anonymous, the AccountingWEB editorial team will still be able to view who submitted the question.
This will prevent any one from attempting to circumvent our community rules by using the anonymous option.
Richard, is there a "My New Content" button anywhere? I found that quite handy on the old site
Hi mabzden... click your name where it appears in your comment here (or the link at the top right of any page) and you will end up at your Profile page, where blogs, comments and questions are listed under separate tabs.
Hi John/Richard, there used to be a link in the "My AWeb" section called "My New Content" (I think - I already can't remember the exact details...) It showed the threads you'd previously been involved in where new content had been added since your last visit. It was quite a handy way of knowing if anything new had been added without relying on email notifications.
I can't see anything with that same functionality.
As I’ve been spending far too long fiddling around with the new AccountingWEB, some of the features of the old site have slipped from my memory. Where did you access the My New Content button on the old site?
Circumventing the rules isn't the only problem. If more than one user in a thread opts to go Anonymous, then the thread becomes harder to follow (due to not knowing who is making which replies). It's hard enough already with the loss of avatar pictures on reply and the faded grey text for names being hard to read.
@stephurhan You cannot reply anonymously. You can only post questions and blogs anonymously.
Small mercies.
It doesn't solve the problem, which cheeky has just pointed out, of serial questioners. If a question seems a bit off, I will often check a users history. More than once you find that they didn't like the answers to a previous version, and have just slightly reworded in the hope of getting the answers they want. As I said, circumventing the rules is the least of the problem with anonymous posting enabled.

Meaning presumably that when the OP fails to give anything like enough info they will be unable to post follow up info without giving away their identity?
In the vacuum of aweb space, no one can hear you scream.
and have you checked ones own posting record - all dates are US style [ at least on my record] !
come on guys give us abreak -
I am going to miss the avatars.
I cant work out who is who anymore.
There used to be a duck, and people's faces, and consistency to identify the people contributing.
Of course, only Portia has the copyright on the F word.. However, I would also like the avatars back - for ease of reading and amusement.
