Gift Aid

Gift Aid

Didn't find your answer?

With regard to tax relief on gift aid payments is it the person who's name the gift aid is in or who pays the money?

For example National Trust membership might be in the name of Mr Smith for him and family but paid from the joint account with wife. Should the amount paid be declared on Mr Smiths tax return or jointly with wife?

Thanks

Mr Smith
On the form that he would have completed for the charity there would be a box or somesuch confirming that he is a UK taxpayer, etc, for the purposes of GA. Therefore I would say the GA is entirely his.
