Gifting of some profits to another associated company

Gifting of some profits to another associated...

Didn't find your answer?

A client with a number of companies has gifted the profits of a project to an associated company.

The receipent company doesn't intend to treat this as an invesment and it isn't a loan either, since there is no expectation of repayment to the donor company.

Neither of the companies is a charity, or a trading company of a charity.

Can any clever bods out there suggest the best accounting treatment for this please?

I know that the transaction isn't subject to CT and will be added back in the tax comp if it remains a P&L expense.
