Help! What benefits are taxable and what are...

Didn't find your answer?

I'm trying to work out what benefits are taxable and what aren't.

My normal avenues for determining these aren't working! Although Google throws up a link to the British Legion, it leads nowhere.

The benefits relate to a deceased elderly gentleman who had war injuries, and are:

  • War Disablement Pension
  • War Pensioner's Mobility Supplement
  • Invalidity Allowance (I've found this one, which is non taxable)
  • Comforts Allowance
  • Unemployability Supplement
  • Age Allowance (Disability Pension)
  • Gallant Conduct Award/Service Rank Addition

I am right in thinking that all the above replace usual state retirement pension, aren't I?

Thanks for any help with these.

Took me 5 seconds to find on google.

I hope Santa brings you some computer lessons for Christmas.

I have that link also, but it says 'the most common ...' . The benefits I've listed aren't on that list (unless I'm missing them)!

and

and legislation here

You could also ask the Veterans Agency who administer them

Thanks for the links. Working through the benefits individually, it seems all of them are non taxable.

They are not on the list of tax-free benefits either.
