HMRC wasting money AGAIN - PAYE codes

I (thought I) had elected to receive all PAYE notices for my employer clients electronically.  I did this some time ago by going into my on line settings and changing everything to "yes" in the employer settings.

I continue to receive a large proportion of codings through the post.

I rang the online help desk today to check I hadn't missed something.  The lady I spoke to said I would have to go into each client individually and change the settings back to "no" and then go back in in 24 hours and change them back to "yes".

I pointed out that I didn't particularly care whether I get them through the post or on line, but to try to save HMRC costs and paper (which we know they are short of(!)) I was happy to receive them on line.  She said there was nothing they could do their end.

I asked her to report the problem to her superioirs but she was not in the least bit interested.

Says it all really. Did you get her full name and write to complain?

I fear that unless we all start doing this - things will only get worse.
