How do you create a discussion group to link the following issues together

How do you create a discussion group to link...

Didn't find your answer?

As my question was stated, how do you create a discussion group topic?

original posts are.

26/7/11 - How should a member of the public choose an accountant?

26/7/11 - How effective are proffessional bodies? (note I am not concerned with the qual/unqual issue, I suspose I am interested in the ethical v Commericial and also are the prof bodies outdated?)

25/7/11 - Process for taking over a new client (again this has sparked some ethical debate that, in my opinion, would play into the above post)

27/7/11 - FEH. This is an example of what happens when a client preceives that their accountant has not been effective.

I clearly have my views and I consider my self to be very risk adverse, however I actually read some posts and have started to consider that perhaps my views are not entirely right. There is always the counter argument to every debate. It is clear to me that the ACCA are not interested in moving the profession forward and I'm guessing the same with ICAEW. So what is the way forward, itis really down to all of us to shape this. The issue on professional clearance is just one example.

Thanks in advance.

Arguements that I see againt some of my views.

Large corporates have sucessful group accountants, who look at the bigger picture al the time. That is why they are successful.

Every business takes risks and that is why business is risky. Those that don't take risks don't make money.

How is the law going to envolve if we do not have people challanging the right of those laws.

Great subject

I would be very interested in a discussion group on this subject.

You can call it Relevance of ethics in today's world? or Ethics v Profits or Ethics why bother

You just have email Becky/John to setup the group.

email address?

Many thanks. I am being very stupid but do not know their email addresses? in contact section it only allows me to email member-services and I just don't know where else to search.

I would say that my wording may not be the most appropriate so happy with other suggested wording. I hope that people can understand what sort of things I am trying to discuss about and trying to join up several sepeate debates.

I can set up a group for you

Please let me know the title and a brief mission statement to serve as a guide to what the discussion group is for/about.

Ethics v Profits? getting the balance right

What about a title called "ethics v profits? getting the balance right". That should hopefully fit with most issues and hopefully will get some attention. I am really open to any suggestions.

Brief subject guide:

What makes for a good accountant and how are they preceived by their stakeholders?

To be honest this group would have wide ranging issues that people can discuss and link more than one point together. But surrounds running an effecctive practice in these modern times and with changing global views.

It may however be a non starter!
