iXBRL filing options

iXBRL filing options

Didn't find your answer?

Looking to file our accounts and tax returns using the HMRC online iXBTL facility it appears we are unable to use this option as we are applying for R&Dtax credits which requires us to complete the full CT600 return.

As I see it the options we now have are:

1. To purchase is iXBRL software for accounts and Corporation Tax  filing at £250+p.a  to use just the once.

2. Send the information off to a 3rd Party tagging company.

3. Outsource the whole filing process which is probably the least cost effective option.

Are their any other options I may have overlooked?

R&D Tax Credit Corp Tax

 Hello

I am in the same position with regard to a R&D tax credit.  Did you have any luck with using the taxcalc software?

Thanks

R&D Tax Credit Corp Tax

Sorry for the delayed response, I've been on holiday.

I downloaded the Accounts templates and corporation Tax software from Taxcalc.

I found the Taxcalc software very intuitive to use. The accounts spreadsheets are a little more awkward to handle, but the conversion of this to XBRL format went smoothly.

I filed the CT600 and accounts in XBRL format and attached all the R&D tax credit supporting schedules via PDF attachment. This is all actioned from within the Taxcalc program.

The files were rejected by HMRC on the first "test" run (as I missed a leading zero from our Company registration number!? on the accounts document).

But on resubmitting everything was accepted.

So all in all Taxcalc came up trumps
