Made in France, Sold in UK

Made in France, Sold in UK

Didn't find your answer?

We've just taken on a new client, who are a British couple who now live in France. They have developed a range of products which they now want to make in France and then sell in the UK, both online and through other retail outlets. They have set up a UK Ltd company to do this, but due to the amount of red tape and high cost involved in setting up and running a business in France, they want to avoid having a company in France as well. So the main question is can this trade be run solely through the UK company? Can the UK company for example claim any costs they incur in France as tax deductible expenses? VAT is certainly another issue, but can anyone suggest any other issues which we need to consider?

Many thanks
