Move from iphone to andriod

Move from iphone to andriod

Didn't find your answer?

I went to get out of Apple hold on me on through its Iphone. My mobile does need to be replaced.

I was awaiting the release of Iphone 5. Don't know when this will be. I am now considering buying Samung Galaxy 3 it will be out at the end of this month.

Has anyone made a move from Apple to Android? What has it been like?

Apple software is idiot proof. Does this same apply to Android - Ice Cream Sandwich?

Thanks

Easy transition

It is an easy move from iPhone to Android. A lot of people in my company have done it. There are a few issues to consider:

1. If you keep your personal contacts on your home computer and business cotacts on your work computer, then iPhone can keep them separate on the phone but Android seems to mix them in one contact list so all your personal contact and business contacts will be mixed on the phone and both home and work computers. The same issue occurs with calenders.

2. If you are not using Microsoft Exchange or Google Apps (a paid for version of gmail, etc.) then it in not possible to have a live sync of contacts between Outlook on your computer and your phone.

3. If you bought expensive apps from itunes, you will need to buy them again.

Most people I know have not purchased expensive apps from Apple and do not have contacts issues as they do not maintain a separate personal contacts list at home. Therefore they have not had any issues in moving from iphone to Android.

Thank you  for your helpful response.

Anyone - I have audio books and music bought from Itunes, would it be possible to transfer these to android?

I am just not happy with Apple's domination.

DRM is a problem

Music and audio books that are DRM free are easy to transfer to Android. I do not think you can transfer DRM protected files. I think most music purchased from itunes is DRM protected.

I have been testing a Windows Phone 7 phone recently. I have been really surprised by how slick the software is. You might want to consider it if you are thinking of moving away from Apple. It is easier to use and more user friendly than Android, and the interface is much faster and smoother than Apple.

Wimbledon Bridge

I go to the phone shop near the station. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable and don't try to get a sale at all costs.
