New employer activation keys not received

Got application case number but not actual keys

Sent off employer application on line and received email with an Application case number a month ago.  After 2 weeks wrote to HMRC to say the activation keys had not arrived - no reply to this (surprise).  I have phoned agent helpline but told they only deal with technical matters and given another number but find that will not let me speak to a person without the numbers!  Perhaps I am missing something but I feel frustrated (not the first time) and unsure of the next step.  I once had a client who managed to set up with two sets of PAYE numbers which caused chaos so am a bit unwilling to start again as this set must be out there somewhere!

Any advise gratefully received.

What is an employer activation key?

Are you talking about applying to register as an employer and not receiving the PAYE scheme and AO references - in which case, have they gone to the client's business address you gave in the application, rather than to you as the agent (I assume that you are an accountant).

Or are you talking about setting up a Government Gateway account in order to use the PAYE Online service and have not received the letter with an activation code under a tear-off flap?

I am in the same boat. Set up a scheme online at the end of March. Client has heard nothing.

Its in the HMRC black hole.
