Online Practice / docsafe

Online Practice / docsafe

Didn't find your answer?

I am looking at the possibility of using Online Practice to create a new website, I would then use them for docsafe as well.

I like the fact the fully manage website would provide some added value such as monthly newsletters, calculators etc. I am also told I can send reminder e mails to clients on a recurring basis for things like PAYE payments etc - fully automated.

The docsafe side of things appeals for many reasons.

I use echosign at the moment for some electronic signing and yousendit for file transfers. I believe the above would replace both these.

So the above would consolidate my services and perhaps provide a more professional service, but at £100 per month (and possibly more if data limits are breached) it is quite a price for a small practice to pay.

I would be interested to hear from any users and if anyone has any other suggestions.

Thanks

David

Great, but...

We use online practice and I think they do a great job.  We're currently thinking of DocSafe too, as I can't find anything thats ticks as many boxes.

It is a case of once you've offered it to clients, it'll be difficult to stop though, so like you, my main concern is increaseing costs as storage needs increase.

I'd be interersted to know any thoughts on Doc Landing as an alternative http://www.doclanding.com/ - you get alot more storage with them for alot less money - you do lose functionality though.

Interested to know you've only been quoted £100 - we pay this for the site without Doc Safe!

Doc Safe

Ok - Here goes.  I have been with docsafe for 3 years, absolutely great.  Go for it.  If you are worried about increasing storage it has facilities in it that will let you know when clients have not accessed data and you can set it so that a file is deleted after a fixed period.  So we are set up to delete P35s and P60s after April next year.  talk to Mike at Docsafe about this.  Dont forget storage is getting cheaper.

Online practice websites are very good and I understand that docsafe is integrated.

Another application that links with docsafe is docusoft.A document managing software www.docusoft.net.

I did use a another option pre doc-safe but found the restrictions made it useless.  I believe that one can upload a file size of 150mb into docsafe.  Although this sounds big our Quickbook file is 120mb.

Online Practice - broken sites ...

Just had a look at the Online Practice site - http://www.onlinepractice.co.uk/index.htm

Makes interesting reading - simply taking their first 3 'Examples of Our Work' have a look at the following.

On a random sample of sites they have produced & a sub-set of pages that are riddled with errors - see below:

Example Sites Provided

Example 1

http://www.broomfield.co.uk/

12event.layerX and event.layerY are broken and deprecated in WebKit. They will be removed from the engine in the near future.

Example 3

GET http://www.nimbusaccounting.com/images/arrows.png 404 (Not Found) jquery.min.js:4

So the question is:

Given the incidence of errors in their example web sites - why would you choose to use them at all; let alone for something like DocSafe with existing errors such as '.. Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame ..'  furthermore would their existing performance give you peace of mind?

As for cost - perhaps we should not 'go there'!

DocSafe®

I wanted to throw a new service to the mix, which we just launched: MyDocSafe.

In essence it is a DocSafe® with an email address that service providers offer to their clients. What is unique about MyDocSafe is the way it processes emails with attachments: filing and tagging is automatic, searching is very fast.

We are just about to add a digital signature facility and several other value enhancing features.

Pricing is very competitive.  You can register for free to claim your free MyDocSafe.com email address.

Please contact me if you would like to hear more.

Kind regards,
