P35s filed by Moneysoft, not on my HMRC record?

What should I do ?  I thought the info had all been lodged successfully and just hadnt appeared on the HMRC site due to the fact that the site was down for mainentance for those extended days.

I have Moneysoft filing auto acknowledged as received by HMRC

But nothing appears on the HMRC website for the P35, P14s etc.

Its the first year I have used Moneysoft to load up the P35s, normally I key it in by hand so that i"know its there"

I raised a similar issue with HMRC the other day

http://www.accountingweb.co.uk/anyanswers/question/acknowledgement-e-mai...

Apparently they are aware of the problem.  As long as you have a report in Moneysoft with the correlation id on it, you apparently don't need to worry.  If (which they assured me was highly unlikely...) you get a penalty notice, "all you have to do" is send a copy of this to HMRC.

I have quite a few clients for whom I have not received an acknowledgment e-mail so I will be very annoyed if I do get penalties for these clients.

HMRC's answer

I questioned this and was told there are two systems and they don't interact. In fact the lady was quite dismissive, as though saying 'silly boy Pike'. So I thought about it - a mix with HMRC, government & computers - & maybe I should not be too surprised.

Thanks very much that means I can sleep easy tonight!

It just takes a while for the HMRC record to be updated........

I used to be very concerned about this. However, I have found that if you file through third party software, it takes a few days for the HMRC system to "read" this and update your HMRC site.

As taxhound correctly says, as long as you have the filing receipt with the correlation ID, you will be fine. I had a problem with a client's P35 not uploading to the HMRC for 2008/2009, but after sending in the correlation ID and the paper version of the P35(!) it was all eventually sorted and HMRC backed down.

The summary appears after a few days

On your online PAYE pages in the gateway there is a page called "View Account". After a few days you'll see your P35 summarised there with total tax, NI, paid, owing, etc. That is all you'll ever see on the HMRC website to show that you filed through 3rd party software.

As stated elsewhere HMRC has two separate systems for storing most of the information. Clearly this is the best possible design, far, far better than storing the P35/P14 data in the same system regardless of how it was originally filed. </sarcasm>

Location of "view account"?

Hi Tom

Is the view account option you mention on the agent gateway or just the clients own gateway (if they have one)?

View account for agents

It is definitely on the client's own gateway because I've seen it myself on 12Pay ltd's own PAYE pages on the gateway.

But I found out about it from an Agent earlier this month, who saw it on his agent account. It may not have exactly the same name though, because I think Agents don't see exactly the same pages as single clients see. Previous to that I thought that there was no way of seeing successful filing.

No figures under "View Account"

Are you saying that there are no figures under "View Account" for 2011/12 in the client's PAYE gateway?

I'd give HMRC a call if that is the case.

Agent Client List

My agent client list is showing all the P35s which have been submitted and has been updating within minutes of the return being filed via Moneysoft. I know there is 1 P35 left to file and 1 client where no P35 is due so I have used the HMRC 'online' notification service to advise no P35 is due. I have prints of every page but am concerned the acknowledgement email from HMRC is yet to arrive.

Relieved to say the email has eventually arrived.
