The desk will still belong to the client. So if/when the subcontractor stops working for the client, they have to give the desk back too.

Does your client buy office furniture for all their suppliers?

If the subcontractor has not got the correct tools of the trade, in this case a desk and i now suspect other furniture and office equipment may be making its way towards this enquiry, then are they tuly a sub-contractor?

the above is partly in jest :)

Seriously, why not charge the subcontractor for the desk, offset against periodic payments until cost is recouped. This avoids the taking back issue..... and that the desk could be used by the subcontractor to work for competitors, surely not the intention....

I fear i have strayed once again into jest territory
