Recent ECJ decision re Manfred Bog

Didn't find your answer?

One for the teccies?

Following the recent court decision re supply of goods being zero rated in the UK for hot takeaway food.

Does this ruling apply for hot takeaway food being consumed immediately only or to takeaways that are packed to retain heat with a view to taking home as well.

Anyone got any thoughts?

Not quite

"Following the recent court decision re supply of goods being zero rated in the UK for hot takeaway food."

Nothing has changed in the UK... yet.  It may be that the German decision affects us too, but as things stand the MG case has no effect in the UK.

Now if someone were to risk it and argue a case, perhaps that will change.  But unless you want to be that person, keep charging VAT on all catered sales!

Now if we're talking protective claims... I'm not sure if food kept warm for transit would be under the MG ruling or not, sorry :)
