Redundancy Pay while on sick leave

When calculating the statutory redudancy pay entitlement for someone who is currently on long term sick leave, is the weekly pay based on the SSP they are currently being paid, or the salary that they would have been paid had they not been on sick leave?

Contract

It's based on the contractual payment. An employee could argue that if overtime and bonus would normally be earned that this should be included as well but you could contest this.

Caution

Clearly making somebody redundant while on sick leave is a risky business.  Proceed with great caution.
