Requesting an employee to take holiday leave

I understand that, according to Working Time Regulations 1998 regulation 15, if we request an employee to take holiday leave we are required to give 2 days notice for 1 day of holiday leave

My question is, does the holiday notice period include weekends or is it only working days?

Have you looked on the ACAS website? It's really helpful about holiday pay, maternity rights etc.
