SAGE recurring entries

I have been using recurring entries for years - but this week I am stgruggling. Has anyone had a recent problem with them? I can't post any journals even when i put a really simple dummy entry  - debit and credit that obviously balances with same date/same ref, same amount, same interval  and same number of postings. I get an error message that says The credit and debit entries do not match in terms of their posting interval or frequency.  Any clues as to what could be wrong?

Recurring Entries

When you click on Process do all the relevant journal entries appear or are some missing?  Have any of the journal entries been suspended?

Recurring entries

Thanks John. Yes they all do appear and none are suspended. I have even tried to process the simplest poss journal - one debit and one credit . Both entreis appear and match exactly. I'm wondering if its anything to do with moving into a new year - but our accounting period goes to 31 March anyway.

Recurring Entries

It could be a corrupt Recurring Entries data file which is difficult to check as it is not checked as part of the Check Data routine although it would be worth running it anyway to see if there are any errors...

If the file is corrupt then try the following as a test:

1. Take a backup

2. Delete all the existing recurring entries

3. Set up two journals and try to post them.

Thanks John, I will try this when I go back to the office (am about to go on holiday) . I did try a check data which didn't find any problem .

Update on recurring entries problem

I tried John's suggestion of deleting all recurring entries and putting in a test entry  - this worked. But when I added a journal to replace my previous ones I got the same error message grrrr. I have now restored back to a pre problem backup and have managed to post the recurring entries for two months - being painstakingly careful to do one at a time and not to change anything existing except the amounts. It seems that your diagnosis of  corrupt data  was right John so thanks for that. The only other thing I did which might have been part of the problem was to give the journals a diffferent reference - instead of the standard DD/STO that SAGE comes up with I used references such as SALARY - making sure that all entries with that ref balanced. I've gone back to the DD/STO option now and not risked a different ref. That doesn't really explain the whole problem  as I couldn't even post a recurring payment at one point. Hopefully all OK now .
