Surveys on Chargeout Rates in the Accountancy profession

Surveys on Chargeout Rates in the Accountancy...

Didn't find your answer?

I have been searching for an up to date survey. I found the Aweb survey done in 2008 and this is very good, but of course rather out of date.

Can you recommend anything else more recent?

Silence.......

Ah. It seems charge out rates are a CLOSELY GUARDED SECRET so nobody is responding. I think some of the recruitment firms might have data of sorts on this, but otherwise I don't know of anything that would help.

I looked for something similar when I started in practice in the 1990s (I had come from industry so had no immediate comparisons). I couldn't find any data so I rang round similar sized firms pretending to be a new client. On that basis i started with a rate of 3 guineas per hour - although I suspect they may have been lying to me.

Image is of a pin up style woman in a red dress with some of her skirt caught in the filing cabinet. She looks surprised.

Recent AWeb informal one

Steve Holloway recently did a fees benchmarking exercise here; try searching for "sole practitioner fees benchmarking"
