Tax manuals/Guides/Updates

Tax manuals/Guides/Updates

Hi,

I have asked a few times over the years what others do in terms of regular ongoing tax updates and CPD, as I have yet to find something I am entirely happy with - it may be that I need to use a couple of options.

What do others do?

Previously I have used SWAT, Ross Martin, also bought Tax Cafe books and Tolley's tax guides.

I would appreciate any recommendations.

Anyone willing to share the sources they use?

Modest

My needs are modest but I use Hardman's Tax Tables - ridiculously expensive but I do use it a lot.  I have a Bloomsbury Tax Guide which I rarely use.   Internet and - dare I say it - my friends on this very website would probably cover my needs.

ATT & HMRC

HMRC webinars are a free and useful resource.

Also if you're a member of professional body, they normally provide regular updates.  I know that in addition to updates the ATT also provide members with the following annually : Tolley's Tax Guide, Annotated Copy of The Finance Acts and Whillan's Tax Tables - all of which are very useful.

HMRC & Tolleys

HMRC & Tolleys

Tolleys is also expensive for the legislation and guides, but I find myself digging in more than I probably should (Is it sad that I find tax legislation a damned good read?)
