"There is no disk in drive" error message

"There is no disk in drive" error message

Didn't find your answer?

I use PC Share Register & recently found that when I tried to print an annual return before e-filing I got the following error message - "There is no disk in the drive.  Please insert disk into Device/Harddisk/DRX"  - (think its usually DR2 but not sure). I can only clear this message by closing the program with Task Manager. Support say this is a Windows error message & I should be able to find an answer by googling. This error message seems to be quite common but suggestionis to put any CD in the CD drive or unplug unused USB devices haven't worked for me - I use Windows 7.  I have worked around my problem by just filing the annual return direct on the Companies House website but is there any techie out there who can help for future?

Try this.

Re install the drive.

First, demount the drive, then disconnect it physically.

Reboot.

Re-connect and let the hardware Wizard find the drive. Should then be OK.
