Tips for meals

Hi

When my client tips the restaurant should I enter it as vat exempt (T9) or zero rated (T0).

Thanks

T9

I'd go for T9 as it's not an allowable business expense - no invoice is raised for the service and the amount is totally at the customer's discretion.

Thankyou

Brilliant that's what I decided on in the end - kind of follows on from my other post yesterday about people who are not vat registered being treated as T9's - the waiter would not be vat registered so must be a T9!

Thanks.
