UK branch of Foreign company

UK branch of Foreign company

Didn't find your answer?

Wish to produce Accounts in an HMRC acceptable format for a UK branch of a Foreign business. In the past, only Profit & Loss Account has been enough and no balance sheet was demanded. Also, no accounting policies were incorporated, A director's report was included.

The information provided by head office of the foreign company is more or less prepared (P&L and Balance Sheet titles and amounts) and ready to be incorporated in the correct format for UK tax authorities.

Thanks

iXBRL accounts required

You will need to tag the accounts and attach an iXBRL accounts file to your CT600.

You need to include a balance sheet as the tags for the name of the officer signing the balance sheet and the date of signing are mandatory. Without these your CT600 will be rejected.

See the paragraph What accounts are required in iXBRL format at http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/ct/ct-online/file-return/online-xbrltag.pdf

Although the tags for the name of the officer and date of signing of the directors report are mandatory, you are allowed to fiddle these so you do not need to submit a directors report. See http://www.vtsoftware.co.uk/support/dirrep.htm
