The following has been provided by a member of my staff in relation to one of our competitors and I was hoping that the experts on Accountingweb could shed some light on it.
I understand the concept of relocation expenses but I have never heard anything like this.
Any comments are most appreciated.
9. NON-UK NATIONALS
If you have just arrived in the UK, and you have not previously worked in the country, then you may be
entitled to claim the following expenses: (but you must first confirm with us that you may do so)
· Relocation expenses Travel insurance, Freight, Excess baggage etc
· Flights Travel from and to your home country for the first 5 years of living in the UK
· Groceries Up to £50 a week over and above your normal subsistence expense claims,
for the first 2 years of living in the UK.
· Accommodation Your rent for the first 2 years of living in the UK.
