VAT return database up the Suwannee?

VAT submissions logging out

Didn't find your answer?

For the last 14 hours, every time I try to submit a VAT return for any client I get logged out of the HMRC system altogether.  Is anyone else finding this?

Sorting out the existing rubbishy database is what the HMRC IT resources should be getting spent on, not the utter drivel of MTD.

I can also confirm that it is not possible to submit a VAT Return at the moment. (9.07 Wed 22nd March 2017)

I filed one without any problem yesterday morning :). Signed in through new agent login so maybe it's the old one that doesn't work?

HMRC had a test system (Agent Online Self Serve (AOSS)) for agents with small client base, not sure if they've moved everyone to this now though.

I had the same issue yesterday and this morning. I called HMRC VAT helpline yesterday afternoon and they said that they are aware of the problem and hope to sort it out soon!

and the same problem here - I get as far as clicking on the actual client, and then back to the login screen again - and again - and again - and again - and again..................

I imagine the external contractor who was responsible for this has quit as they didn't want to go on PAYE from 1st April and no-one else in the building knows how it works.

This is what drives me mad about the daft ideas of the Numpty Department such as MTD. This drivel is sucking up valuable IT resources. Any normal business not run by numpties would deploy the resources in fixing the rubbishy systems first, instead of daft vanity projects which will just totally overload the system instead.
