Vat statements

A client recently emailed me a screen shot of his Vat account. It was a pretty little page from the HMRC website showing brought forward, returns, surcharges, payments etc.

I can't find it on my own agent's page of the HMRC website. Am I able to view it somewhere as it would be extremely useful?

Many thanks.

You can't as Agent

It is extremely useful and I've gone down the route of having all my Clients register for it as a matter of course for any checks I or they may want to perform.

It's called the Business Tax Dashboard and is currently only available to Taxpayers, an Agent cannot view it on their behalf. You will have to log in to HMRC Online Services using their credentials.

It applies for up to 3 taxes I think, so you can have VAT, PAYE and CT on there. Very useful.

Thanks for the info cparker87

Why on earth agents can't see the Dashboard is beyond me. Sometimes I despair of HMRC. Do you know if it will be available anytime soon to us poor saps who actually do the work?

There was some press releases a while back about offering the same integration for Agents which they claimed to be working toward. I wouldn't hold out hope for anything too soon though.

Business tax dashboard NOT required

Logging in using the client's Gov't Gateway ID and password, then accessing services - VAT, the webpage that appears has the option to view the VAT account and drill down for liabilities, credits and payments.

ditto. for PAYE/NIC (but only shows payment made, not months to which allocated in current tax year, not current year liabilities).
