What is the best awarding body to study with?

What is the best awarding body to study with?

Didn't find your answer?

Hi.

I have studied with ICB and have Level II is their computerised bookkeeping.  I also have their Practice Licence.

It seems to me that this may not have been the best route to go as when I studied with them I was not aware of the other bodies out there.

I am thinking of gaining qualifications with a different body.  Distance learning really is the only option for me and I was wondering if any folks could tell me what the best way to go is i.e. which awarding body.

Any help/guidance would be appreciated.

Best wishes,

Stefan

Best for what?

What is it that you want to be doing in the future? Presumably you will want a qualification that complements your aspirations.

How much time do you want to invest in studying? 1 year . . . . . 5 years?

Not sure whether you can do all by distance learning

But AAT (Association of Accounts Technicians) is a well respected organisation and a good solid first stepping stone for accountants - but I am not sure where you are hoping to go woth your qualifications.

My Own Small Practice

Ultimately I would like to run my own small accountancy practice completing books/accounts/SA for Sole Traders and Partnerships and maybe small limited companies.

At this particular moment in time I have no aspirations to go to full chartered status.

I have heard that the AAT qualifications are very well respected but was wanting some further input from others before I made my decision.

I currently hold a practice licence with ICB but this only allows me bookkeeping up to trial balance. I could do further study with ICB but have held back as I have been told to discontinue study with ICB and opt for AAT instead which is better recognised.

Again I just wanted some further input from other people in the field as to the way to go.

Thanks for any help/guidance you can offer.

Stefan
