Which mobile phone are accountants using these day

Which mobile phone are accountants using these day

Didn't find your answer?

I have been a blackberry user for the last 7 years or so and love the physical keyboard. But now that BB is facing extinction which phone would members recommend for accountants?

Thanks

Try the new Blackberry Keyone. Mixed reviews but probably the best phone out there with a physical keyboard.

The main thing i look for is a large screen at the moment i am using a Galaxy Note. I only use my mobile for reading e-mails and making and receiving calls.

I'm the only person in England not to have a mobile phone and it hasn't effected my career/clients retention one jot

They are the spawn of the devil

I do have a mobile phone which I started carrying for medical reasons (i.e. when I was diagnosed with diabetes and not very good at it). Now it occupies when I'm in the pub.

However, ask me when I'm on the train, or just trying to walk through the station, whilst the phone zombies meander blindly as they stare at their evil little contraptions, expecting me to look where they're going so that they don't have to, and I have to agree with your final statement.

I don't carry one either, but I have an old pre-pay nokia for logging into stuff on my desk treated much like the dongle for my bank.

And I am not even 45 yet.

Not the only one, Bernard...! I always describe myself as Vodafone's target market but have yet to be 'sold' on the things. My wife makes up for me with 2 of the devices.

I am using a dual-SIM card phone from Lenovo as want to be able to separate business from personal life and just switch off the business SIM over the weekend.

I have a mobile for keeping in touch with my 18 and 20 year old offspring. No othe form of communication reaches them.

It is a Microsoft phone chosen by my son for me, he assumed I would appreciate it as it resembles my desk top to a small extent. He is probably right.

I never give any clients my mobile number, life is too short and clients too annoying.

Come on guys 8 comments and no one using an IPhone where have you been.

They come out of the box and just work, wouldn't be without one now.

My mam is 75 and she can use it without issue.

I have a Iphone 5SE I refuse to get the 7 or the 7plus . I like my small iphone. When you are out at a meeting in town socially are work. I just what a small phone that fits in my pocket easy access.

I don,t want, are need a book attached to the side of my head.

As others have said the iphone just works. In terms of charging the Iphone. It does so much. If you turn everything off on the iphone and just use it as phone the battery lasts for ages. I do that when I travelling if I know I will have no access to charging.

Try Honor or Huawei Mate DUAL sim phones. I use one with 2 cheap contracts. Helps separate business from personal and from 2 different network providers as the signal strengths vary. But, can only have 4G on one sim and 2G/3G on the other. However, the signal strength on 2G/3G sim is sometimes better than 4G depending on where you are.

I`ve tried and had many various dual sim phones over the last 6-7 years and the weak battery power was always an issue. It seems that nowadays phones are meant to be charged at least once a day if not often.

Now using the Lenovo P2 and with moderate usage (e-mails, web browsing, calls and texts) the battery lasts at least 3-4 days.

A secondhand unlocked Galaxy S3 on PAYG. Still going strong after 4 years on 3G. I've never bothered with 4G as I live in the worst part of the country for signals. I can file accounts and tax returns with it and never use my pc for emails or internet to avoid virises.

Why wouldn't a phone come out of the box, and why wouldn't it work? And why would anyone pay the price of an iPhone, when you don't get anything extra for the money? My Motorola Moto G4 Plus cost me £185 and does everything an iPhone can do (unless the iPhone has a compass).

You know what I mean Chatman.
I broke my phone went to Apple gave me new phone fully restored with 7 years of emails and text messages back on it with about 5 minutes after re connecting to Icloud its just a good system and easy to use.

My Iphone 7 was free as part of my plan and wouldn't fancy paying £185 for one although I appreciate it built into the contract.

I do have a compass on it as well.

Apps tend to be built first for Apple then Android so more choice if you are an app fan.

I didn't want a phone without a physical keyboard but you get used to it very quickly. In fact, on an on-screen keyboard, you can write by dragging your fingers from one key to another, which is much quicker than typing by tapping each key individually, even on a physical keyboard. I'm not sure you can do it on an iPhone (none of my Apple fanboy friends can) but why would anyone buy an iPhone anyway?

The OP asked for help with his decision what phone to buy. People are sharing their experiences with their phones to try and help him. I haven't seen anyone "comparing toys", but even if they were, why be rude, especially when you apparently have nothing to add yourself?

Hmm, very interesting discussion. Thank you all.

Neophyte: thanks for the link. The thinking generally seems to be against physical keyboards. Perhaps I should give it a try.

Thanks. Nothing wrong with a physcial keyboard, used to love my old little Blackberry back in the day. Fast to email and long battery life. Now I have an Iphone 6s and the wife has an Iphone 7. Can't go wrong with these the only issue is battery life which lasts a working day if you are lucky.

None of my Android phones have ever broken, but if they did, I would be able to replace all the apps and data within an hour of getting a new phone.

I have yet to see an advantage iPhones have over similarly priced, or even cheaper Android phones. Apart from the compass, I think the iPhone does nothing my £145 Android can't. Do you know of anything?

iPhone users always seem to be amazed when they see me entering data to my phone, because they can't do it that way. That appears to be an app that exists in Android but not in iOS. Maybe Apple has caught up now, or will soon, but they lag behind on that one.
