Why is last year's Employers Allowance now showing as owed by clients?

Last year's Employers Allowance

Didn't find your answer?

On the online Agent's page for PAYE all my clients show as if they have £2000 outstanding for 2015/16,  ie last year's Employers Allowance when they were all eligible.  Is this a glitch?

Yes, I did ticke the box on QB. It was showing all year on HMRC page as Employers allowance but has changed since the year end. I have been using Quickbooks for the last two years without any problems.

Is it showing on your previous RTI reports?

Yes, but I now see that the final FPS of the year reversed it. Thanks again Quickbooks for that.

In QB this year, as last year, there was a problem with the Final RTI reversing the Emp Allow if you were using the wrong release. In QB go to Help/ Support/ Employees & Payroll, Payroll Year end 2015-16 resources, and read the "Important Note" it will give you details of the problem and the correction for it. Hope this helps.

Thanks Jackie, just found it. Another QB triumph - I thought I had downloaded the latest release but clearly I hadn't.

I assume you didn't call the Employers Helpline? They will tell you to call the Online Services Helpdesk. When you call the Online Services Helpdesk they will tell you to call the Employers Helpline.

I was saving that task for today, but now thanks to Cheshire for the steer of checking previous RTI reports followed by Jackie's QB tip I can now fix it! Great forum for asking questions, although the new format takes a bit of getting used to.
