64-8 listings

64-8 listings

Didn't find your answer?

I have adopted efiling wherever possible.

I accessed the HM Revenue & Customs client list site two days ago and found that the number of SA clients shown was 68 instead of 174. Spoke to HM Revenue & Customs IT helpline who said that their list showed 46 clients.

Issue has been now referred to another dept. Solution may include me emailing them a list of missing 64-8s. The fact that this was mentioned worries me. I have a Government Gateway client list that is a few months old that I can scan and email; this will reduce the major issue to an irritating nuisance.

I am still left very concerned that my ability to file returns and service my clients is dependent on the HM Revenue & Customs IT system. The fact that 2 days after reporting the problem I have no further news worries me more.

I hope that HM Revenue & Customs back up systems mean that they can salvage the position and restore my client list. If not, I will refer the matter to the ICAEW to highlight the problem.

I suggest everyone adds downloading/ printing Government Gateway client list regularly to their disaster recovery plans.

same here
Several of my clients were only on the gateway. In trying to rectify that they deleted all others. I was then in danger of missing the payroll deadline so as they hadnt sorted it in 3 weeks with no estimated time for corretion, I had to enter all my payroll info for each client again.

This meant I wasted 3 whole days on non chargeable work. As a single parent in a small business I am totally reliant on that money. I wrote to the payroll section on 18/5/06 claiming compensation as per the HMRC website. I had an acknowldgement that they had received my complaint but have heard nothing more. I am not holding my breath!
PLease dont say they would have waived all my client's fines-the damage to my reputation would have been done.

Deleted from Govt Gateway as well!
HM Revenue & Customs have managed to delete the clients from the Govt Gateway masterlist.

Spoke to HM Revenue & Customs again today, there are looking into it. No estimated timescale for fixing, but if I haven't heard by Tuesday, contact them again.

What's listed on the Government Gateway for you now
I have read somewhere (may even be on accountingweb) that the master list is the Government Gateway list. If listed there, it will be forwarded on and received by HMRC.

If this is no longer the case, please can someone quote chapter & verse.
