ACCA Practice Manager??

ACCA Practice Manager??

Didn't find your answer?

My initial thoughts of this product are:-

1. Expensive for a one-man firm (over £1000 to buy plus £500 pa support which appears to be compulsory). This is for practice management only - tax, accounts, payroll and book-keeping software is not included nor available as an add-on.
2. Possibly over-the-top and clumsy for a one-man firm - i.e. having to "approve" things as manager/partner that I have done myself, i.e timesheets, letters etc.
3. Standard documents appear to need a fair bit of editing.

Are there any suitable alternatives?

Expensive is the Word for it!
Philip,
Can I ask you why you have opted for such a program, when, like me, you are a one-man-band?
I use, and have done for about 12 years, Moneysoft's Money Manager with Final Accounts plus their Office Manager and Payroll Pro.
Money Manager does all the book-keeping/ accounts and is a pure doddle. Final Accounts gives me all the reports I need including P&L,Blance Sheet F/A Schedule and draft SA Return. I can immport the detail into Excel if I want to "dress up" the available reports and for a one off payment for the intial installation of the software, that's it. Payroll Pro handles all my bureau payroll facilities including on-line filing. It can upgrade from Freeway/Sage existing payrolls and can even produce payslips in that format if that is what you want.
Office Manager comes with templates that I can edit for standard letters/statements/sales invoices/client accounts request info etc.
http://www.moneysoft.co.uk.
All the above software can be updated in 5 mins on line and the payroll auto reminds you to update every 3 months or so as new legislation and software is upgraded.

For my tax files I use Drummohr Technology and I have never had any problems with theri software. http://www.drummohr.com

Why pay for for something that is geared to a practice where there are staff to be controlled, when you are doing everything yourself anyway?
Cheap software does not mean that it is incomplete. Remember the small companies have to try harder - just like you and I.
