Accounts and Tax submission software

My colleagues recommended VT and Forbes.  What accounts software would be good to use for a small practice?  At present we would like to have probably tax calc-they have mentioned that they will bring out a CRM database.  This is a big temptation.  We have also found that this software is easy to use and would probably be good value for money.  We found practice manager to be too involving and as a small practice, time is very limited.  What would you recommend?  At present we are also considering VT-as an easy to use accounts package
