Are there any VT or TAS Books users out there?
In recent weeks, AccountingWEB.co.uk has been opening up a series of software discussion groups for users of different applications. Groups dedicated to Pegasus Opera II, Sage, QuickBooks, IRIS tax/practice and IRIS Exchequer have given users the opporunity to share information.
We've had an expression of interest from a TAS Books user who would like to get a group going, and there have been quite a few threads about VT in recent weeks - would it help you to have your own corner of AccountingWEB?
Let us know by posting a comment below, or by sending a private message to me and we'll alert you when the new groups are up and running.
Would be interested
As a relatively new user to VT I would be interested in such a group. Although as the above post says it is relatively straight forward to use, I'm sure that there are many tricks & shortcuts out there which would be useful for us newbies to know.
Definitely
I have been using VT for a number of years now and am a very satisfied client. However, having tried Sage and other Accounting and BK software in the early part of my practice development, I have become a bit more oblivious to what other major suppliers are offering. It is always interesting to see what features VT do not have that other software do have so that VT can certainly bear the same in mind for future development of this excellent software. Anything that keeps VT on the cutting edge is a win win for all concerned.

Next best thing to slived bread
Only problem with VT
isthat it does not have an LLP template.
I for one would be happy to pay a one off £50 for such a template - how many others would . Is enogh then perhaps we could pursuade Phil (who wrote it) to this for us.
Otherwise an excellent product
Another vote
for the VT Suite. I'm sure VT Transaction+ has a lot of cool stuff in it we're not using. My only quibbles with it are the inability to use drop-downs to specify what accounting policies you want in VT Final Accounts.
Error detection is also a pain. There have been a number of occasions when a row containing a figure has been hidden by AutoHide because the comparative was blank.
It would also be nice if you could use VT to print off lead schedules as you can with Viztopia.
Now open for business!
Thanks for your feedback everybody. Apart from the couple who said VT was so good that no group is needed, I took the general feeling to be in favour.
You can now join the VT Software discussion group and continue any specialist conversations there. This doesn't mee you shouldn't keep an eye out for people asking advice on Any Answers, but as you get more deeply into the features and functions of the program, or how you would like to see it develop, the discussion group should give you a forum to explore those ideas without troubling other AccountingWEB.co.uk members.

Not much point for VT surely?
VT is so straightforward and the help screens are so good that I for one would not really be interested.
Never had any experience of TAS so have no opinion.
Just my two penn'orth!
