ATT Results

Didn't find your answer?

Seeing as their website doesn't seem to realise there have been exams since May 2008 I can't find any mention of when my results will be out.

I have the 22nd in my head for some reason...

Don't bother with the legislation..

..for ATT. You don't need it.

All it does is make your journey in and out a nightmare. Do the basics well and that is enough to pass. Save the legislation for CTA.

Oh, and I was looking for the results date for CTA for a colleague of mine and couldn't find it on the website either!

Edited to add: Just checked and the website was updated 2 days ago. CTA results available on the 20th.

I did...
... papers 1 and 2.

In all honesty I made a conscious decision not to take legislastion in as I didn't have access to any and couldn't afford to buy them, especially not just for that one day! And that decision meant I took the rough with the smooth and didn't curse the fact I didn't have the books, so I didn't miss them per se.

I did the study myself after just buying the text books but I do work in tax so I already had a basis in some of the areas. Of the whole exam room (say... I don't know, 40 - 50 people?) I only saw one other person without the legislation. I only had a slight twinge of regret for not having them when I came to a detailed question on Employer Share Schemes which would have been a 15 mark copy from the legislation exercise. Having said that even people who had the legislation complained about that question, so maybe I was no worse off :)

I did 'a lot' of study (just under 100 hours per paper) and as I say I work in tax and, modesty aside, I am reasonably intelligent and best of all I test well. But I am also a bit dizzy and have a tendancy to plough into questions without really reading the fine print :)

I say all that so you know the type of person I am when I say: I found the papers very manageable and although I don't expect to win any awards I would (again, confident v cocky) be suprised if I have failed. And I am filled with such confidence/cockyness that even though my brother is having his Stag doo the Sunday before the next exams I will still be sitting them :)

Hope that helps!

#Edit# Oh, and just for specifics, I haven't tried 7 yet (ethics?) but I found 1 easier than 2. And all being well I will see you at Paper 7 in May :)

What paper?
Thomas

What papers did you attempt? Did you think legislation books would have made any difference? I am planning to do Paper 1 & Paper 7 in May-09

Ignore date and carry on as normal
Thomas

you could of course ignore the date and when the envelope with the pass list (or copy of the Times) arrives on your doorstep, it will come as a pleasant surprise. Perhaps an excuse to go the pub early esp if it is 7:30 am!

Will you post if you have passed or not. I am unsure if Thomas is your real name or anonymous, as mine is.

I did find the exam...
... thank you for asking :)
Not being one to go to Leeds much I was worried, but finding it was a doddle once I got there.

I am confident that I have passed (though I couldn't afford to take any legislation books in so it was all from my head. I'm either confident or cocky, take your pick :) )

I know they told me when the results would be, I can see the bit of paper in my head, sadly I have no idea where this paper is and so am having to do it from memory...

I could just ask the ATT, but they tend to take a while to reply to my emails and there must be others who took the November exams on here.

ATT Exams
Thomas,

Did you manage to sit the exams? I know you had a little bit of difficulty in finding out where the venue was from an earlier post on this website.

When you received the instructions to sit the exam, it will have advised when the pass list was to be issued. It should have specified when published in the press and the ATT website, and the date when the personal list was to be sent to you. I know when I sat the ATII (Intermediate) over 20 odd years ago (equivalent to ATT for those not old enough to remember (I am not that old I had just turned 20 when I sat and passed the exams)), I knew precisely when the exam pass list would be out, likewise when I sat and passed the final exams (now CTA) a couple of years later. Everyonewho sat the exams knew this date.

As if by a miracle, the ATT website will be updated with the exam pass list when it is published. I am confident they will know when exams have been sat and there is no global conspiracy to deny you ever sat them.

How difficult did you find the exams and do you think you passed?
