Audit manual

Didn't find your answer?

... and feel the need to update my audit approach.

I wonder if the community could let me know what they like and dislike about the audit systems they use.

In the past I've used the Kestrian really small company audit system which I've quite liked, but I do wonder whether that is "appropriate" for £5m companies. Has anyone ever had any issues with the JMU about that?

I've also used the Mercia system which was OK, and PCAS which was total overkill.

What else is there?

mercia and caseware
Have you seen the mercia system automated in CASEWARE.

Ive not used it personally, but I have seen it used in practice, in a fairly large national firm.

PCAS?
I have worked at four firms over the last year and used several systems , Kesterel, Mercia and PCAS & My Client.

For a smaller client I would definitly go with PCAS.

It was put together much better, has more space to ref and indicate whether a test is relevant, and includes only the core tests in each section ( with supplementry tests which didn't have to be included if not applicable).

In addition, the sampling system made more sense and focused the audit in a more cohesive way.
