Australian Client anyone??????

Australian Client anyone??????

Didn't find your answer?

While sunning it up down under my english home is rented out, recieve a police pension and now work in Oz. I have to complete an English SA Tax Return, recieve a personal allowance and pay my taxes, however in Oz I dont recieve a personal allowance and the tax rate is higher here. Could i forego the allowance in England to obtain an allowance in Oz. Should I move the pension to Oz???? Any help would be appreciated

Not our pigeon really
You need an Australian tax adviser to guide you but:
1) You are entitled to a UK personal allowance anyway
2) I would have expected your police pension should be taxable only in Australia under the double taxation agreement if you are resident in Australia: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/dtmanual/DT2661.htm
3. The letting will be taxable in UK.
4.I would have expected you should get a personal allowance in Australia if resident there if such exists.

If you need help with sorting out your UK tax affairs do email me, jon(at) tax-adviser.biz
