BANK AUDIT REPORTS

BANK AUDIT REPORTS

Didn't find your answer?

Good Morning,

Has anyone ever experienced any difficulty obtaining a year end bank audit report for a client from Halifax Plc?

We have a client with a March 2010 year end holding various accounts with RBS, BOS and Halifax. Now RBS have came back with there audit report and BOS with theres (non inclusive of Halifax accounts) but Halifax ignore requests or have difficulty locating accounts on which to prepare a report but the bank accounts do exist.

Does anyone know of a central office on which to send requests?  or how to best go about clearing up this issue?

Thanks in advance

Best Regards

Steven

Do you think there is a point?

Halifax accounts, for reasons unknown, are not integrated with the rest of the BOS systems. If you look here http://www.bba.org.uk/policy/article/pn16-bank-reports-for-audit-purposes-contact-details/audit-reporting/ you will see that they don't actually issue a central adress (although these are roundly ignored by most of them - RBOS has at least three offices in Scotland issuing them).

With enough time & effort, you can probably track down someone who may be able to help you but you may like to consider if there is a point. Surely the point of the bank audit report is 3rd party confirmation but if they admit that they cannot link accounts etc then what value is it? If you don't know the account numbers to quote then they won't be able to look them up which sort of defeats the purpose in my opinion.

Unfortunately, I doubt ICAS/ICAEW would agree with this point of view.

Are the balances material to the accounts and do you have any other evidence?
